Can we just take a moment to remember how hard it is to be a fan of any team in sport? I mean my team, the Vancouver Canucks, for example, is surely one of the saddest teams in history. We’ve held far too many memorials and lost far too many finals. When we are bad, we are really bad. And when we are good, we are never good enough. We win the league, but never the trophy that matters. And damn, do we hear about it. And we have our superstars. But they don’t get treated like superstars. They get treated like dirt. They help build hospitals, they are everything people should strive to be. But they get called women. Like it’s a bad thing. And they ask why? Why is that a bad thing? What are you implying? And they still get no respect. We win, but not when it matters, not enough. We must be the easiest team to make fun of, eh? So what’s worse: losing game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, 4-0 on home ice? Or the possibility of being swept in the first round, by an 8th place seed? God fucking knows because either way, it just sucks. So yeah, sports always suck, because while it’s nice to win, there’s always a loser and some teams just always seem to be the loser. So I’m not saying we suck, cause we don’t. But Jesus Christ it’s hard to be a Canucks fan. It’s a pretty miserable thing to see and then be constantly reminded about. It’s hard to be any fan. Sports suck. Sigh, it’s what makes them pretty awesome some days.
Seriously try being a Cubs fan
